A 17-year-old woman died in Dongguan city, Guangdong province on October 20 after she’d taken MDMA with a group of “strange men”. After going out with them for 10 hours, she returned to her rented room and showered over 20 times before her death, her roommate said.
Li Yue, originally from Hunan province, came to Dongguan on September 30 and stayed in a rented room in the Dongcheng district with her roommate, Sina News reports.
Around 6:00 a.m. on October 20, Li had been dining at a food vendor near her rented home when she went off with four strange men. Ten hours later, she returned to her room in a state of delirium and covered with bruises.
“She kept saying the room was full of snakes and mice. She got a broom from the outside and wielded it all around the room,” her roommate, Feng Tianyuan, said.
Feng said Li had taken at least 20 showers, then went out with a broom wearing nothing but a towel.
Feng called her roommate’s employer, who suggested that she might have been drugged. After going to the hospital, doctors found that Li had taken MDMA (ecstasy) in the past 48 hours. They told Li to stay at the hospital, but she refused and insisted that she hadn’t taken drugs.
Li told Feng that their cab was “filled with snakes and mice,” so they walked home. When she got back to their room, she took a rest on her bed and asked for water.
When Feng returned with a drink, she heard a noise escape from Li’s mouth before she stopped breathing.
Li was confirmed dead when the ambulance arrived to her room.
