Drivers in Taiyuan are taking “dibs” to a whole new level. Residents have started to use household objects to reserve their parking spaces in neighborhoods where finding a parking spot is basically a competitive sport.
Although to be honest, it seems easier just to flip over cars that park in your space illegally and get in the way of your spot. Or to convene a quorum and lift the damn thing out of your way yourself.
Their plans are inherently flawed because these items are easily movable. What, exactly, is stopping people from removing the items and parking there anyway? But hey, “logic” and “sense” aren’t always the first words that come to mind when talking about automotive vehicles and China.
