A man from Guangzhou who’d returned from a six-month trip to Africa this year noticed that he’d developed some small, swollen sores along the right side of his body and leg. Read on with caution.
The sores became painful and itchy within the first couple weeks of appearing on the man, surnamed Ma. After he started running a high fever, he finally decided it was time to get his skin checked out by a doctor.
The doctor realized that the bumps and sores were actually the result of a tambu fly maggot, or several, that had nested beneath his skin.
Ma had to undergo minor surgery to have all 20 maggots extracted, clips of which are high in nope-factor and are available for your viewing pleasure below, courtesy of Apple Daily.
