A woman in Shanghai who lost her pet dog was fined after telling police that her “three-year-old son” had gone missing with the animal so that they would look for it.
The 46-year-old dog owner told Minhang district police on Monday that her son and golden retriever had been kidnapped by someone in a Buick, according to Shanghai Daily. Officers realized a few inconsistencies in her story, however, the greatest one being that the woman didn’t have a three-year-old son, only a 25-year-old son.
Police said the woman led them on so they would prioritize finding her pet, because, presumably, they probably wouldn’t have gotten around to doing it.
Still no word on whether the doggy was returned, but we hope so. We kind of get the feeling that this woman needs some companionship.
