A 33-year-old woman was killed yesterday after she got stuck between a Metro train door and the screen barrier on the platform.
The incident happened around 7:10 p.m. on Metro Line 5’s South End of Huixin West Street station, NetEase reports. After she got trapped between the doors, the train took off and didn’t stop until about 100 meters, according to witnesses.
“She was stuck in between them, and the train moved. She was crushed and then fell onto the tracks,” a witness surnamed Zhou told the thepaper.cn.
The woman was sent to the China-Japan Friendship Hospital and was still breathing upon arrival. Despite emergency treatment, the woman succumbed to her injuries.
She had several wounds and bruises all over her body, according to the doctor. He said that the specific cause of death could only be determined after reviewing forensic results.

Similar cases involving people getting trapped between the doors have occurred here as well.
