Zhang Zhongyi and his wife, Jiang Wenyan, tie the knot.
A man who was separated from his conjoined twin brother as an infant in the first successful case of its kind in Taiwan tied the knot with his girlfriend this past weekend at Taiwan’s Qingqing Farm after their 11 years together, China Youth said.
Zhang Zhongyi, the groom, told guests at the wedding that life is limitless. High tides often follow low tides, he said. As long as he can hold his wife’s hands to face hardships, he believes they can stay together forever.

His brother said he was happy that Zhang has his wife to take care of him, but at the same time, he admitted that it’s hard for him to “leave” his twin brother.
Before the twins underwent the separation surgery in the year 1979.
The previously conjoined twins survived the separation operation 35 years ago. This was the first successful case of its kind in Taiwan’s history.
In January, doctors managed to successfully separated a pair of conjoined twins who were connected at the chest and abdomen and shared a liver.
