If we know anything about smuggling drugs across borders (which, truly, we don’t know much about), it’s that you’ve gotta be innovative. Whether that means hiding the goods in bras, cultural relics or even using your own child as a drug mule, you can probably safely assume that cops have seen it all before. Apparently, one Hong Kong teenager thought he could outsmart the man by hiding his stash inside a plug extension unit. How wrong he was.
The unnamed 17-year-old was arrested at Lok Ma Chau after Hong Kong Customs officials discovered a kilogram of meth placed inside of an electrical socket extension unit, Coconuts Hong Kong reports.
The teen, who’s scheduled to appear in court today, could face a maximum penalty of life in prison and a fine of 5 million HKD (3,900,000 RMB). A pretty hefty punishment for a stash with a street value of around 430,000 HKD.
