Thirteen suspects were detained by traffic police in Shenzhen after they were caught racing their luxury super cars on an expressway with speeds over 251 km/h.
Sina reports that most of the vehicles were sports cars, and the lineup included a Ferrari and a Lamborghini.
It’s said to be the largest number of people involved in such a case in decades.
The suspects were all men from Hong Kong between the ages of 36 and 62. They told cops that they race in Shenzhen because the highway there is broad and straight, while roads in Hong Kong are narrow and punishment is more harsh.
It’s unclear how the punishment will be doled out in Shenzhen.
