A pig farmer in Guangzhou died on Monday after one of his hogs bit off a portion of his leg.
The 60-year-old farmer was tending to the pig pen at his farm on Monday afternoon when one of the boars attacked him, clamping down on his thigh.
The man crawled a short distance to seek help but soon lost consciousness due to severe blood loss.
An hour later, his wife found him passed out in a pile of his own blood. The man eventually succumbed to his injuries after losing too much blood, Tomo News reports.
Upon seeing the damage, doctors were shocked to see that such a large piece of his leg was missing. They said that it was likely gouged out and eaten by the hog that attacked him.
If you weren’t yet aware that pigs are blood-thirsty, man-eating monsters (we weren’t), note that another case of similarly disturbing proportions went down just a day before in Jiangsu province when a two-year-old boy was bitten and killed by a pig. Pieces of the boy’s skull were later found inside the pig’s stomach.
