The folks behind the Shanghai Disney Resort, those teases, released some new little tidbits on Thursday evening about what we can look forward to upon its opening next year, including an 800-room hotel to be themed entirely on the movie Toy Story—the first of its kind in the world.
Another hotel, the 420-room Shanghai Disneyland Hotel, will be Art Nouveau-inspired, with some added Disney flair, according to a new press release. Magical.
Located near Shanghai Disneyland, Disney’s first theme park in mainland China, is Disneytown—a lakeside shopping, dining and entertainment district covering 46,000 square meters.
Disneytown includes a place called Spice Alley, which will offer Asian cuisines in a “casual, yet romantic environment”, and the Beverly Hills-inspired Broadway Boulevard, featuring upscale boutiques.
Broadway Plaza will also house the Walt Disney Grand Theater, where the Mandarin version of The Lion King will have its global premiere.
The Shanghai Disney Resort is Disney’s sixth resort worldwide and will feature the largest Disney castle of them all. It’s scheduled to be open by the end of next year. Or so they say.
