Six workers have been rescued in the rubble of a construction zone where a parking lot collapsed yesterday evening, according to NetEase. At the time of reporting, an unknown number of people were still believed to be trapped.
The garage was under construction when one of its roofs suddenly toppled around 7:15 p.m. yesterday.
Searchers and rescue dogs were sent to the scene to find workers who might still be buried beneath the rubble. It’s unclear how many workers were at the construction site at the time of the collapse.
Just two days ago, two people were killed and several more injured when a six-story private building under construction collapsed in Guangzhou. Similar incidents also occurred in Henan and Shanxi, and in some cases, shoddy construction practices were to blame.
