A father in Hejian, Hebei province spent three months building a 4.3-meter high Optimus Prime replica for his son’s 18th birthday.
Yao Fuxing crafted the bot using scrap metal and car, motorcycle and farming vehicle parts, according to ECNS. The completed model weighs an impressive 1.6 tons and had to be assembled with a crane.
Just to go above and beyond all the other Transformers-building fanatics/dads seeking a Father of the Year award, he also installed a power and gear system, enabling the robot’s arms to move as it plays the Transformers soundtrack along with parts of dialogue from the movie. It is also guaranteed to piss off anybody within a 10-meter radius.
Yao is a government worker in Hejiang, as well as a blacksmith and former Navy pilot.
“My son loves the Transformers movies and he has a lot of Transformer paraphernalia. So I decided to make one for him,” he said.
So that’s that.
