A Beijing university student was almost stabbed to death by his roommate for failing to take out the trash.
The 22-year-old Beijing Geely University Junior explained that everything had spun out of control after he returned to his dorm to have dinner on November 13. His roommate had asked him to take out the trash before digging in, but being a hungry, growing boy, he refused and decided to eat first.
His not-so-friendly response resulted in his roommate throwing a stool at him before grabbing a fruit knife off of a nearby table and stabbing him, according to news portal iFeng. The attacker has since been detained by police.
The victim was hospitalized after sustaining injury to his liver, and the 25,000 RMB hospital bill has become a huge financial burden on his family. They even reached out for some help from the attacker’s parents, who seemingly vanished into thin air after simply offering some new clothes to compensate for their son’s assault.
In this case, “stay hungry, stay foolish” applies to both in a very literal meaning.
