Sometimes in China, rich people can do some really remarkably shitty things, but it’s important to remember that the scale works the other way too and they are also sometimes capable of performing some good deeds that are equally impressive, and while supplying your entire high school class with an iPhone 6 is super magnanimous and all, it’s stingy compared with building new homes for everyone from your hometown.
That’s what one entrepreneur did for the villagers of his hometown of Xiongkeng Villlage in Jiangxi Province, spending 36 million RMB of his own fortune to construct 72 brand new villas to house his fellow Xiongkengers in style, reports NetEase. To move in, local residents just had to pay 30,000 RMB per townhouse. Poorer villagers could move in free of charge.
To top it all off, elderly residents eat free three times a day.
