Xing Xing pulls a cart of vegetables as his mother sits in back.
A hard-working pup in Shandong province has received a flood of compliments on Chinese social media after he carried on his mother’s duty as a cart driver for their owner.
Xing Xing, his mother and their owner head home after shopping.
Xing Xing, who took over his mother’s job when he was only six months old, is regularly seen pulling food for his 64-year-old owner Tian Zhongguo when they are shopping, according to Tencent.
Tian gives Xing Xing some water on their way home.
While he’s been put in charge of transporting the vegetables, he occasionally takes his mom for a “joy ride” around town.
The doggy carrier has become a celebrity of sorts among local residents who are touched by his filial piety to his mother and devotion to his owner.
According to Tian, Xing Xing’s mother is nine years old, and no longer has the strength to pull her owner’s cart along. She previously gave birth to three puppies, and Xing Xing is the strongest one. He was chosen to be her successor by helping their owner cart food around.
When Xing Xing’s mother was only 7 months old, she could pull a heavy bag of rice for her owner.
OK, so he didn’t exactly have a choice. But he looks like a pretty happy dog nonetheless.
