In a wedding ceremony even more shamelessly over-the-top than your typical tuhao wedding ceremony, one post-90s couple in Dongguan dished out over 1,500,000 yuan to celebrate their marriage in a public show of luxury cars and cash hand-outs last week.
A fleet of Hummers, Lamborghinis and Porsches appeared on a Dongguan street last Saturday to kick off the ceremony for the bride and groom, both in their 20s. But (*in thundering gameshow host voice*) that’s not all. Passengers inside the luxury cars then got out on the street and began distributing hongbao containing cash ranging from one yuan to 100 yuan among passersby, according to NetEase News.
Sina reports that the groom, Chen JunLliang, is the owner of a Dongguan Internet company. He comes from Hunan and started his e-commerce company just one year ago.
“Our company just got a huge financial fund and I got married today. So I want to make the ceremony really big,” said Chen.
Another extravagant tuhao wedding was held in Wuhan last month with a similarly unnecessary display of wealth and bride-groom dancing.
