Last Sunday, a huge matchmaking event was held for more than 1,000 single civil servants in Beijing. Take a look at the pictures and be thankful that you’ve never taken part in a mass matchmaking event.
The hall hosted swarms of desperate singles clinging on to the hope that they may possibly find “the one” among a sea of a thousand in the very un-intimate, brightly lit setting, where they took part in interactive activities.
Mass matchmaking events like this one are popular among civil servants, who are regarded as having “golden jobs” in China (despite their reportedly shit salaries). This past july, a similarly uncomfortable-looking blind date party was held for 100 single officers in Foshan.
