Yesterday, a woman in Hengyang, Hunan province attempted to jump from the 28th floor of a building from which her husband had tragically fallen to his death three days before.
A Wuhan military officer living in the building arrived at the scene to talk the woman off the ledge before firefighters came, Tencent News reports, and the woman was eventually persuaded to crawl back through the window with the help of rescuers.
The woman’s husband fell and died while he was doing construction work on the 23rd floor of the building and his safety harness snapped. Three days after his death, no one came to discuss the compensation with his wife. She could do nothing but stay with her husband’s body. Feeling helpless, she finally decided to “go with him”.
