A middle-aged Chinese woman made local headlines after she helped a sick Thai flight attendant on a plane from Nanning, Guangxi province to Bangkok last Thursday.
The flight attendant had experienced a sudden pang in the abdomen on the Orient Thai Airlines flight OX619 when the middle-aged woman with medical experience took his pulse then gave him a massage with her own ointment, Sohu News reports. The steward’s pain was soon alleviated.
The auntie is a retired doctor from Liuzhou, Guangxi province. The chief attendant, identified as Tunte, thanked the woman via Thai media and stressed that the majority of Chinese tourists have honorable moral qualities. The news comes, of course, after a spat of headlines that put Chinese travelers to Thailand in rather unfavorable light in Thai media. It should go without saying, however, that similar good deeds occur every day without report. It’s not every day that a passenger assaults a flight attendant with a cup of instant noodles.
