A total of 99 couples in traditional Chinese wedding garb joined together for an ancient-style group wedding ceremony held in snowy Chongqing this past Saturday, as temperatures dropped to negative three degrees celsius.
Chongqing Morning News reported that five foreign couples among the 99 pairs garnered a good deal of attention during the traditional Chinese event.
The foreigner grooms ride horses in snow.
A Hungarian bride named Jia Qi, who studies at the Chongqing University of Technology, said that she and her groom (also classmate) and signed up for the event after graduating.
Organizers of the mass wedding ceremony told reporters that they’re hoping the event will break a Guinness World Record, of course.
The 99 couples have a group photo at the event.
