A Good Samaritan in Yanji city, Jilin province climbed up a building and propped up a seven-year-old girl for more than 20 minutes after he found her stuck inside the security bars of her apartment’s windowsill on the afternoon of December 26.
When a witness, surnamed Han, was returning home from work, he found the little girl on the third floor of a residential building, lying on the windowsill with her head stuck inside the bars.
“Once the girl fell out of the windowsill, only her neck could hold the weight of her whole body. It was very dangerous,” said Han.
Two men in their late teens and early 20s were passing by the area at the time. Upon seeing the situation, the thinner one climbed up to the second floor and stood on another window grate to support the girl’s body and prevent her from falling down, according to Han, who then called the police.
As the rescue crew attempted to pry her out, the Good Samaritan still held the girl’s head as she cried in panic. Eventually, firefighters managed to bend the security bars and drag the girl back inside the house.
Mrs. Yan, the girl’s mother, told reporters that she left her daughter home alone when she went out to do some shopping. She said she had no idea how she managed to get stuck in the bars, but we suppose it’s not all that surprising considering similar instances have happened several occasions.
