In his final moments before suffering a heart attack at the wheel, a taxi driver in Weihai, Shandong province on Thursday managed to bring the car to a halt so as not to put his passengers in danger. Sadly, the cabbie died less than an hour later, NetEase News reports.
A passenger in the cab and police nearby performed CPR on the driver, surnamed Sun, immediately. After 45 minutes of first aid treatment, however, medical staff were unable to resuscitate him.
In a similar instance from earlier this year, a bus driver in Shanxi who suffered a severe heart attack at the wheel was praised for stopping the vehicle, despite his intense pain, to save the lives of the 30 passengers onboard. Unfortunately and expectantly, not all cases end this way.
