One man in Dongguan, Guangdong province became an auto dealership’s worst nightmare this past Tuesday when he pulled out 85 plastic bags containing 85 thousand one-yuan coins to pay for a truck.
The bags of coins weighed a whopping 5,000 kilograms in total, Xinhua News reports. The man is reportedly the owner of a bus company and all the coins came from bus tickets fares. Instead of taking the coins to the bank (which has also proved to be a giant pain in the ass), he seems to much prefer pissing off anyone he needs to pay in a bulk, and even pays for large gas bills in coins.
However irritating, it isn’t the first case of its kind. A food wholesaler from Hebei in March last year purchased a new car with nearly 120,000 RMB in one-yuan notes and coins.
