A naked woman who jumped into a river in Nanjing, Jiangsu province on January 11 was pulled out by a Good Samaritan and taken care of by bystanders. The rescuer, however, was left to fend for himself in the water.
The woman was seen leaping into the river around 3:00 p.m. last Sunday, China.org reports, shortly after which one lone hero dressed in black plunged into the frigid water to save her.
Images making the rounds on Weibo show seemingly concerned passersby crowding around the woman after she was pulled out of the water, completely ignoring the rescuer who was left to climb up a steep ledge and out of the river by himself.
It’s claimed that the rescuer is a senior university student in Nanjing, but soon enough, we suspect, even the vaguest details of his valor will be washed away like the sands of that river.
