A vendor accidentally ran over and killed his four-year-old son as he was attempting to make a getaway from local chengguan, China’s incredibly unpopular urban management officers, in Hangzhou city, Zhejiang province on the afternoon of January 15.
According to the chengguan, the vendor, who sells fruit out of his truck, saw them stop and talk with another stall owner 20 meters away in the area. He immediately drove away before being hassled.
The vendor hadn’t noticed, however, that his child was playing near the truck. He tragically rolled over his son, who died on the spot before the police and paramedics arrived.
Police were sent to the scene to keep the traffic moving. Further investigation of the incident is underway.
