Taiwanese musician, singer-songwriter and general heart-throb Jay Chou married his sweetheart Hannah Quinlivan in Yorkshire, England during an intimate wedding ceremony on January 17 in front of around 50 friends and family members.
Chou and his wife chose to keep the event somewhat low-key and clear of paparazzi and publicists. Nonetheless, the sites of the wedding ceremony and party, Selby Abbey and Castle Howard, became popular tourists spots overnight, the Straits Times reports.
“Chou seemed a little bit nervous. He was busy and happy,” CCTV quoted Chou’s agent, Yang Chun-jung, as saying.
Chou hired out a 20-member live orchestra to play music, including one song which he composed for the occasion.
“Although it took a long time for the rehearsal, he was very satisfied with the orchestra,” Yang said.
Chou and Quinlivan, a Taiwanese model with half Australian blood, had been dating for four years prior to their marriage. Their relationship was confirmed last year when he set a date for the wedding.
The two are likely to honeymoon in Britain, as the 36-year-old singer will be staying there to shoot his role in the 2016 thriller-comedy Now You See Me: The Second Act, Apple Daily reports.
This one, titled Jay Chou & Hannah’s [email protected] Abbey, features the song he wrote for the occasion.
