Bao Aixiang’s hands were left deformed after she suffered from polio at the age of 12. Unable to take care of herself, she trained her feet to help carry out tasks she could no longer do with her hands. She can now cook, wash and make clothes, do cross-stitch embroidery, knit socks and give hair cuts to her husband with her feet, Ningxia News reported.
Bai married her husband, Ma Wanwa, in 1999 when he was 54 years old and she was 33. At first, Bai refused to marry him because of their age difference. She eventually agreed after her family convinced her.
Bai has taken the initiative to carry on family chores and take care of his daughter from a previous marriage.
