Yet another reason to fear public transportation. Half of a bus in Shenyang was burned down to nothing but its frame after it suddenly caught fire on Middle Qishan Road yesterday afternoon. Fortunately, all 10 passengers on board had been evacuated before the horrific damage was done.
“The bus was running normally when the fire appeared. We believe the main cause was an electric circuit failure,” staff from the bus company said in a NetEase report.
“I could feel the heat from the burning bus even from inside my store,” the owner of a grocery shop on the opposite side of the street said.
“There were some strange sounds inside the bus, and the flames suddenly appeared from the bottom. Soon enough, the front was engulfed by the fire,” a taxi driver, who’d witnessed the event, told reporters.
