A couple of amateur partners in crime were captured on surveillance footage kissing each other after committing a theft on January 20 at an accessory store in Fushun county, Sichuan province.
When the store manager, surnamed Gong, opened the shop as usual on the morning of January 21, she discovered that it had been looted, and poorly, the night before. She checked the cash register and found 2,100 yuan was gone.
“They did not seem like professional burglars and they didn’t target valuable stuff. The thieves only took 2,100 yuan in cash, along with some women’s perfume and a couple of pieces of inexpensive jewelry on the shelves,” Gong was quoted as saying in the report.
Upon viewing surveillance footage, Gong saw that the burglars had celebrated their modest stash of stolen goods by kissing at the storefront at 10:47 p.m. Aw—to be young, in love and in desperate need of perfume.
It’s unclear how the couple managed to get inside. Investigation of the case is underway.
