A father and daughter who posed for photos at the same scenic spot near a Jiangsu lake every year for 35 years straight won the hearts of web users after posting the whole series online.
Hua Yun Qing can still recall the day that he took the first photo with his daughter, Hua Hua, in August of 1980. He was 26 years old and Hua Hua was just a one-year-old toddler. They were visiting a relative’s home near Ta Ying Lake in Jiangsu province and Hua Yun Qing, mesmerized by the beauty of the Jin Shan Bao Pagoda in the distance, asked his wife to take a picture of him and his daughter.
In the summer 1981, Hua Yun Qing took his family to Ta Ying Lake to go for a swim, and remembered that he’d been there at almost the exact same time the year before, posing with his daughter in front of the pagoda. They posed for a photo at the same place, and the tradition took off from there.
The photo series sweetly documents Hua Hua’s transformation from toddler to adulthood, and Hua Yun Qing from father to grandfather of two.
