A female staff member at a Jiangxi hospital was fined one month’s salary yesterday after she was found practicing her dance moves for the hospital’s annual holiday party during working hours instead of helping patients.
One patient, surnamed Huang, told local media that he and his wife, seven months pregnant, had waited in line for over an hour at the registration office of the First People’s Hospital of Fuzhou on Sunday. While patients were lined up, he saw a dozen or so female staff members dancing in the hospital corridor, seemingly without a care (or a job) in the world.
The hospital investigated the man’s claims and confirmed that a staff member from the registration office did, in fact, abandon her duties to dance during working hours. Apparently, she had asked a colleague to replace her but no one ever showed up to cover her.
According to ifeng news, the hospital deducted one-month’s performance pay from the worker as a penalty.
We really hope she at least learned all the dance moves.
