An unlicensed doctor in Fujian is suspected to have fled to Sichuan after one of his patients was found dead and floating in a river, completely dismembered.
A local sanitary worker in a rural town of Fujian discovered the dismembered corpse in a river on January 31. The body parts were wrapped in plastic bags and had been dumped in the water.
Police were able to identify the victim as a 39-year-old man who had gone missing after a trip to a nearby clinic. The man reportedly didn’t want to fork out too much money on hospital bills, so he visited the local unlicensed clinic instead.
Autopsy results have led real doctors to believe that the patient was killed after receiving an IV or injection with the wrong medicine. The quack doctor then cut up the body and disposed of the evidence in the river before fleeing.
Photos of the clinic show two dilapidated rooms containing only a few chairs and a bed. There were no medical instruments in sight.
Last month, an 11-year-old boy was left dead after an unlicensed doctor in Henan tried to treat the boy’s sore throat by puncturing his tonsils and releasing the blood.
