So Jaycee Chan really is a brand new man, it would seem. According to his famous father, Jaycee has been more disciplined, neater and has matured since his release from jail, prompting Jackie Chan to jokingly tell reporters that he thinks his son should go back every year.
Straits Times reports:
In an interview with Oriental Daily News that was published today, Jackie said: “He used to be lazy and not focused enough. Now I see him placing his shoes neatly, eating all the food his mother cooks for him, carrying bowls, folding clothes.”
Seeing how much Jaycee has been changed by his time in jail, Jackie said he told his son: “Why don’t you go back for half a year every year?”
“He said, you can’t go back if you haven’t done anything. I joked and told him to send in a request. It’s quiet there and he can write songs.”
Jaycee served six months in jail for a drug offense after he was caught at his Beijing villa with 100 grams of weed.
What can we expect from the young(-ish) Chan now that he’s seen life on the outside in a whole new light? He’s apparently expressed interest in writing scripts and may even help write the sequel to his dad’s 2012 film Chinese Zodiac.
