A woman was ordered off of a Dragonair plane headed from Hong Kong to Beijing and the flight was delayed by nearly three hours after repeatedly refused to close the cabin toilet door open as she changed her child’s diaper.
Flight KA902, carrying 277 people on board, was awaiting takeoff when passengers noticed a strong smell coming from the cabin toilet, one passenger surnamed Chen said in an Apple Daily report. In the restroom, a woman, reportedly from the mainland, was cleaning up her child who ‘was believed to be suffering from diarrhea’.
Flight attendants asked the mother on more than one occasion to please close the door, but the woman refused and a verbal fight eventually broke out between her and the other passengers.
Police were called to the scene and the woman was escorted off of the plane before cleaners had to come wash down the restroom. The flight was meant to take off at 3:00 p.m. but ended up leaving at 5:50 p.m. due to the disturbances.
Dragonair said in a statement on Monday that the woman was told to leave because she’d displayed inappropriate and uncooperative behavior, ejinsight.com reports.
