This ridiculously cute CCTV footage shows a panda scurrying from one side of the road to another and then back again in Sichuan’s Yingxiu township in the wee hours of the morning on Thursday. It then crossed another street at the t-junction using a zebra crossing (!!!) before disappearing out of sight.
According to experts at the Wolong National Natural Reserve, China’s largest and best-known panda reserve, the panda appears to be approximately two years old and in good health. They are however befuddled by the appearance of the panda in this part of town and have been trying to locate the animal, but to no avail.
China says that the population of giant pandas in the wild now stands at 1,864, up 17% over the last decade, but this figure has been disputed by several conservation scientists who point out that the latest survey simply covers a much wider area than the previous one.
Watch this video and tell us why the panda crossed the road.
