One job fair in Taiyuan, Shanxi has gone hi-tech and paperless in the way it uses mobile technology to connect job seekers with employers.
Instead of bringing stacks of resumes with them to the job fair, applicants need only scan a QR code on a big billboard of available jobs to obtain more information and an electronic ticket with allows them to send across their resumes with a few simple clicks on their phone. Brilliant.
More than 500 companies, including a slew of top companies, participated in the job fair, offering over 9,000 job vacancies.
The proliferation of the use of QR codes in China has taken off thanks in part to the popularity of Wechat, the mobile social network by Chinese tech behemoth Tencent.
