A newlywed couple in Chongqing were taken home from their wedding ceremony in a decorated white sedan led by a team of eight black horses ridden by fellow equestrians.
The wedding procession stretched across five kilometers each way in the city’s Nan’an district and lasted over a half an hour.
Friends of the newlyweds said that much of the couple’s love story took place on horseback, as both of them are huge horse lovers.
There’s no shortage of creativity (or money spent) when it comes to wedding processions in China. In February, we saw a groom escorting his newlywed wife home with a fleet of crane trucks that he rented out for a princely 900,000 yuan each. Another wedding ceremony we wish we’d attended in Dongguan featured a convoy of luxury cars and cash hand-outs amounting to a total of 1,500,000 yuan.
