Three Chinese ladies caused a huge commotion when they decided to do some duty-free shopping during their transfer at Naha Airport in Okinawa, Japan.
According to the Ryukyu Daily News, airport officials said the three Chinese nationals were on transit at Naha while flying from Ishigaki Airport en route to Haneda, mistakenly made it to the baggage claim area on the ground floor while looking for the duty-free shops, and then somehow managed to make it to the departures area on the second floor, breaking all security rules.
To be on the safe side, officials decided to lock down the airport and make ALL passengers go through security AGAIN, including those who by that time were already sitting in planes ready to take off.
The result? 25 flights were delayed, 5 flights had to be cancelled and a grand total of 6,300 passengers were affected. Among the airlines that had flights delayed were ANA, Japan Airlines, Jetstar, Pegasus Air, Japan Transocean Air and Ryukyu Air Commuter.
