The story of a woman in Liangwang village of Jinan, Shandong province who donated her kidney to her uremia-stricken husband and saved his life has won netizens’ hearts.
The husband, called Li Fangdong, was diagnosed with serious uremia a month ago and required a transplant operation as soon as possible.

His wife, Sun Guofang, went to the hospital to be tested in the hope of saving her husband. Sun received an “organ donation report” from the hospital on February 14.

According to a Qilu News report, the transplant operation between the wife and husband was successfully carried out at a Jinan hospital yesterday.
Li currently remains in an intensive care unit under observation. “The surgery was quite successful. The wife will recover the next day. If nothing goes wrong, the husband will recover in five days,” a doctor told reporters.
“I feel great but just have a fever,” Sun told reporters, smiling, after hearing of her husband’s successful surgery.
