In the latest episode of borderline-psychotic partners completely over-reacting to some paranoid delusion: a Zhejiang woman recently covered her boyfriend’s rental car in 30 sanitary pads because she suspected he was having an affair, merely because he arrived home an hour later than he promised.
People’s Daily Online reported that the 23-year-old woman then vented her emotions on social media, posting a photo of the sanitary-pad encrusted car online, with the caption: “That’s right, I did it!!”
The post quickly gained traction across social media, with other web users praising the indomitable woman for getting revenge on her unfaithful boyfriend: “Great move! That’ll teach him.”
When her stunned boyfriend returned to find his car inexplicably vandalized, he was forced to explain his prolonged absence by spilling the beans about the secret romantic dinner plans he had been busy making for her birthday.
Convinced of the veracity of his alibi, the sheepish girlfriend must have been glad she hadn’t taken the advice of another militant social media follower who had commented: “You should have done it with used ones.”
The pair’s relationship is apparently steady once again. The boyfriend really ought to be thankful he got off lightly, given the insecurity known to posses some girlfriends in China — one only has to be reminded of the woman who stabbed her boyfriend 31 times after he said another girl’s name in his sleep.
And if her man ever dares to break curfew again, perhaps the girlfriend’s next punishment will resemble the carnage seen in this infamous viral video.
