A man in China was sentenced to a year in prison after he attempted to abduct his fiancée (hopefully now former fiancée) and bring her back home with him by stuffing her into some luggage.
The case goes back to mid-2014 when the suspect, surnamed Wang, was living with his fiancée in Liaoning province, according to CCTV News. In May, the couple got into a huge row, and the bride-to-be, surnamed Mu, booked it back to her hometown of Xi’an.
Wang had tried on several occasions to persuade Mu into coming back, but ultimately failed. So, he decided to take matters into his own hands. Wang made the trip to Xi’an in June 2014 to have a “face-to-face conversation” with Mu, which actually just involved him tying her up and squeezing her into some luggage to ship her back to Liaoning.
Fortunately for the woman, the driver of a car Wang had taken seemed to notice that there was a living human being inside of the bag, and forced the man to open it.
Wang left as if it was no big deal, and Mu rushed off to report the incident to authorities.
