In the latest edition of “Pimp my Ride: China”, a resourceful Liaoning farmer has shown off the fruit of his ambitious DIY project—a working model of a Soviet-era tank.
According to Tencent, the dexterous farmer devoted himself for over a year to build the replica war-machine, using only an angle grinder along with welding and drilling machines.
The man claimed to be have been inspired by the tank’s awesome power in the so-called “Anti-Fascist War”, and built this miniature version as tribute in time for the 70th anniversary of World War II.
The hand-crafted tank is built to scale (1:2 ratio) and is furnished with a functional interior from which this formidable farmer takes commands.
It is hard not to marvel at the innovative ventures of homegrown engineers across China, and we certainly appreciate any grand enterprise masterminded by the humble farmer. On a similar note, check out this video of a 150,000 RMB homemade aeroplane taking flight in Chongqing.
