First ketamine parties, then racy runway shows and now this. China’s housewives have gone wild, with the most recent case involving 34 homemakers who were busted after setting up an underground gambling den in Zhejiang province.
Seven of the 34 female gamblers, all averaging 40 years old, have been detained and 27 others have received administrative penalties.
One of the suspects, surnamed Wang, confessed that she used to be a boss of a “card and chess room”, where she made friends with six other rich card-playing enthusiasts. Feeling bored with their lives at home, they decided to start operating a gambling house at the end of 2014.
Police raided the gambling house in Jinhua city at the end of last month after getting tipped off by neighbors and seized a whopping 150,000 yuan.
