Fresh from the oven, Chinese smartphone company Meitu has unveiled its newest handset, the Meitu M4, designed almost exclusively for selfie-lovers.
Boasting a 4.7-inch, 720p screen and 13 megapixel Sony cameras on both the front and rear, the company claims their latest phone snaps the highest quality self portraits around, especially in low-light conditions.
Women love selfies and will take them anywhere, at any time. This was the crucial conclusion of various scientific studies carried out by the company, according to Meitu Chief Executive Wu Xinhong.
”We have done some studies on selfie habits, and we found that 70 per cent of women take selfies, and only 15 per cent of them are willing to do it without any make-up,” he was quoted as saying in an SCMP report.
The device comes with a Fujitsu Milbeaut image processor, 2GB RAM and is equipped with a non-removable 2,160 mAh battery for longer lasting selfie-taking capability.
The handset also features a MediaTek octa-core 1.7Ghz processor and 32GB of internal storage, etc., etc. More importantly, however, it comes in pink, white and mint green! The phone will set buyers back by 2,199 yuan ( 2,499 yuan for the Hello Kitty version).
According to computerworld.com, domestic smartphone maker Xiaomi remains unbeatable in ruling China’s smartphone market, but it seems Meitu knows exactly who it’s targeting.
