The Shanghai government joined up with Tencent to push out new features on WeChat aimed specifically at Shanghai users.
After downloading the latest version of WeChat, users will notice 14 helpful tools added in its new “WeChat City Service” tab. The features allow users to virtually get a hospital queue number, pay utilities, search for library books and more.

All 14 features will appear as follows.
With the hospital tab, you can check the nearest hospital and recommended doctors, and also make an appointment with a doctor online.
Pay for electricity, water and gas electronically with transfers from your WeChat Wallet.
This one has Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan visa services. Applicants can later access a “special line” reserved for WeChat users at the Shanghai immigration office.
Users can check their driving penalty points…
Check camera surveillance records…
Make car reservations…
And check the weather, right down to specific areas in Shanghai
Readers can also check out books at the Shanghai Library.
Users can make property tax payments.
And conduct fapiao checks
The Shanghai government will be involved with a wide range of new features on Wechat, QQ, and other Tencent media.
