Attention Hongkongers: Now you can guzzle down your Hello Kitty beer and cheers with your Hello Kitty champagne at a new Hello Kitty-themed restaurant, which just had its soft opening today in Yaumatei. While Hong Kong already has its share of Hello Kitty cafes, this restaurant on Canton Road will feature dozens of new dishes, including dim sums, rice and noodles which all in some way incorporate the iconic kitten (or whatever the animal really is).
Serving 37 food and drink options, half of which will be Hello Kitty-shaped, the restaurant will begin a six- to 11-week trial run starting April 16. Although seat reservations are not currently offered, boyfriends forced to wait in queue with their better halves will be happy to know that a meal will only set them back around 10 to 19 USD for lunch and 13 to 26 USD for dinner.
As expected, patrons will be greeted by an explosion of Hello Kitty elements at every possible corner of the restaurant, including the front gate, glass walls, chandeliers, tables, chairs, chopstick rests, salt shakers, steamer baskets and wet wipes. All are highly recommended to have a Hello Kitty count challenge.
