China’s determined square-dancers at times seem unstoppable. No matter what hurdles the world throws at them, whether it be bicycle locks, regulated routines or—quite literally—feces, they find a way to dance, whenever and wherever.
That means even the middle of a highway is fair dancing grounds. At least, it was for these middle-aged folk, who unloaded from a bus on the Chuda highway in Yunnan during a traffic jam and began shimmying and sashaying with abandonment.
Crowds of people gathered around as the aunties and uncles broke out into a dance battle of sorts.
Local people tried to get in on the highway shenanigans by selling snacks during the impromptu show for a few extra renminbi.
All in all, it got wild, in only the way that China’s square dancing enthusiasts can get.
