Just weeks after two super cars were totaled during a Fast and Furious-inspired underground drag race in Beijing, a driver in Shanghai found himself in a similarly disastrous situation after he decided to take his limited edition Ferrari for a little spin in the rain and utterly destroyed the thing.
The luxury LaFerrari crashed into the railing of an elevated highway at around 11:00 p.m. yesterday as heavy rain fell over the city.
This fellow’s LaFerrari was one of 599 such models in the world and is estimated to cost more than 22.5 million yuan. The miserable driver has now set the unenviable record of being the first one in Asia to crash this particular model.
Fortunately, no other cars were involved and no serious injuries were reported. Images taken at the scene suggest that a teenager was driving the sports car at the time.
The world’s saddest teenager.
