In order to curb inappropriate behavior by Chinese whilst travelling, China’s National Tourism Administration has reportedly blacklisted four misbehaving tourists on its official website this week.
According to ifeng News, the number one blacklisted tourist with file number 20150001 is an Anhui woman named Zhang Yan, who threw a cup of steaming hot instant noodles at an AirAsia Flight FD 9101 attendant, before insulting and threatening her in December 2014.
Zhang’s male companion Wang Sheng was also blacklisted with file number 20150002, who threatened to blow up the plane, amid other madness. Zhang and Wang were reportedly angry after being told that they couldn’t sit together, although the flight attendant had actually helped them change seats.
As a result, the flight was forced to turn around 90 minutes after it took off from Bangkok en route to Nanjing. According to the regulation, the pair will remain on the blacklist from March 24, 2015 until March 23, 2017.
They are joined on the blacklist by another recalcitrant passenger, Zhou Yue, who forcibly opened the emergency doors on a China Eastern Airlines flight from Bangladesh to Kunming on January 10, 2015. Zhou was detained for 15 days and will remain on this new hall of shame until March 23, 2017.
The fourth tourist to receive the ignominious title of being blacklisted is Li Wenchun, who is facing a 10 year stint after he climbed atop statutes of revolutionary soldiers at a memorial park in Shaanxi to take a photo last month. The matter attracted the attention of authorities after his photo had been widely circulated on social media.
