A helicopter had to be dispatched to Victoria’s Peak in the wee hours of the morning on Saturday to pick up a drunk and disoriented Brit who couldn’t find his way home.
The 27-year-old expat was headed back from a night of drinking at around 5:00 a.m. when he stumbled into a heavily forested area of The Peak and lost his way, Hong Kong Coconuts reports. Matters were only made worse when he fell down a slope and got tangled up in a piece of rope.
After struggling to free himself from the rope in what had to have been an incredibly uncoordinated state, the man finally called the police for help. Unable to give his exact location, officers sent firefighters to the scene to scoop him up in a Panther-class chopper.
We can’t imagine being air-lifted to the hospital after drunkenly getting lost in a patch of woods was this man’s finest hour, and yet… maybe it was.
He left the Wan Chai hospital on his his own later that morning after being treated for minor scratches.
